Tomsk Pedagogical University embarks on a working visit to schools and universities in Kenya

The Tomsk State Pedagogical University and educational organizations in Kenya are strengthening cooperation in promoting education in the Russian language. As part of an initiative by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Tomsk State Pedagogical University is exploring the possibility of launching Russian language training centers in friendly countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

LEARNING THE KET LANGUAGE TOGETHER WITH TSPU

During Native Language Week, a lesson on the Ket language was held at TSHPU. A TSHPU employee and representatives of the Kets shared the history of the people and the places where they live. They also explained the rules of pronunciation and spelling of words in the Ket language and discussed one of the translations of the folk tale "Cuckoo"

Back in the 20th century, Professor Andrey Petrovich Dulzon of TSPU initiated the documentation of unwritten languages of the peoples of Siberia. +1 TO MASTERS OF SPORTS OF RUSSIA AT THE TSPU

Maria Kosterova, a third-year student at the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, has been awarded the title "Master of Sports of Russia" in sports acrobatics. The award was issued by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

Maria's passion for acrobatics started when she was seven years old and joined the Youth Sports School No. 3. She initially tried various sports, including swimming and rhythmic gymnastics, but acrobatics won her heart.

Maria says, "I am a team player and I love performing acrobatics in pairs or threes. You feel a sense of unity and support."

FOREIGN STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY FOR A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES

The Department of Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tomsk region recently held a meeting with representatives of Tomsk universities to announce a new change in the migration legislation. The new temporary residence permit for education (RVPO) is now available for full-time foreign students in Russia.

The RVPO, which replaces the previous temporary residence permit, offers several benefits to foreign students. Unlike the previous permit, which was issued for three years, the RVPO is issued for the entire duration of study and 180 days after graduation. Additionally, foreign graduates can now receive a residence permit and Russian citizenship within three years, compared to just honors graduates or citizens of certain countries previously.

Russian Ministry of Education announces plans to elevate teacher status and improve school-parent relations

In an effort to improve the education system in Russia, Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov has announced plans to raise the status of teachers and strengthen the educational work in schools. During an interview with NTV's Pozdnyakov program, Kravtsov called the status and prestige of the teacher's work the most important challenge for the Russian education system.

"Today we are discussing with the deputies of the State Duma the question of fixing, perhaps, a special status for teachers," said Kravtsov. "This would give them protection, among other things, from the various wrongful actions that often occur against the teacher."

INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION OF TSPU CELEBRATES ITS 90TH ANNIVERSARY

In December 2022, the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Cooperation (IFLIC) of the TSPU will celebrate its 90th anniversary.

The Institute was created by the decision of the TSPU's Academic Council in August 31, 2020 by merging two structural units of the university - the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Department of International Cooperation.

The first mention of foreign language education in the Tomsk Industrial and Pedagogical Institute dates back to December 10, 1931: On this day the first German teacher V.V. Medlina was hired.

THE «YOUNG SCIENTIST» COURSE FOR PARTNERS FROM VIETNAM, CHINA, AND BRAZIL CONCLUDED AT TSPU

The final topic of the dialogue between representatives of foreign universities and TSPU experts was "Computer-Assisted Language Learning". They discussed the possibilities of independent learning of a foreign language with the help of the modern computer technologies.
