ROUND TABLE "EARTH FROM SPACE" UNITED RESEARCHERS, STUDENTS AND SCHOOLCHILDREN AT THE TECHNOPARK OF TSPU

The round table "Earth from Space" brought together scientists, teachers, students and schoolchildren of the city. Mikhail Chervonniy, Director of the Physics Center, Professor of the Department of Physics and Methods of Teaching Physics, and Anna A. Vlasova, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor of the Department of Physics and Methods of Teaching Physics, were the hosts of the event.

The first speaker, Lev Belyanin, Associate Professor of Tomsk Polytechnic University, precise instruments specialist, gave a presentation on "The Role of Orientation and Navigation Systems in Exploring Earth from Space". The speaker spoke about what materials Russian spacecraft are built of and what parts they consist of.

Marina Nikolaevna Alekseeva, Researcher of Laboratory "Oil Museum Research and Information Center" presented a study "Impact of natural and anthropogenic factors on landscapes of Western Siberia regions using space images", where she demonstrated how Tomsk Region scientists carry out observations of the Earth surface and its landscape using remote sensing methods by means of satellite aircrafts.

Lydia Inisheva, Head of the TSPU Laboratory of Agroecology raised the issues of interaction between "Space and Natural Resources", discussing how satellite imagery allows tracking scale of expansion of Vasyuganskoye swamps and searching for peat deposits in Western Siberia.

Mikhail Yurievich Kataev, Professor of the Department of Radio-Electronic Technologies and Environmental Monitoring of TUSUR, discussed "Temporal and Spatial Peculiarities of Changes in the Atmospheric Gas Composition Based on Space Measurement Data" with colleagues and listeners. The speaker was actively answering the questions of the students, e.g. how to influence the minimization of changes in the atmosphere and slow down the increase of ozone holes.

Sergei Sergeevich Bondarchuk, Senior Researcher of the Department of General Biology and Biology Teaching Methodology of the TPSU, offered the guests an opportunity to get acquainted with the USSR spacecrafts and learn the history of their construction and their launch into space.

"Optical-Space Instruments for Atmospheric Research" were presented by Boris Alexandrovich Voronin, associate professor at the TUSUR Department of Automated Control Systems. He discussed the instruments used by scientists to study the parameters and properties of the atmosphere and the changes occurring in it.

"It was interesting for me to meet and talk to people who not only understand the topic of space, but also work in spheres related to it, — said Maksim Kostylev, a student of School No. 35. — I thank the university for holding such an event and giving us the opportunity to learn a lot of new. I liked that we could ask questions and get detailed answers.

At the end guests and researchers were able to discuss the information they heard and other questions on the topic. Afterwards, Mikhail Alexandrovich Chervonniy gave the students a tour of the classrooms of the Technopark of Universal Pedagogical Competences of the TSPU, demonstrating the full range of its functionality.
