"ANDREY PETROVICH DULZON. GREAT NAME IN THE HISTORY OF THE TSPU ": 120th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LEGENDARY PROFESSOR.

An exhibition dedicated to the memory of an outstanding scientist, well-known linguist, ethnographer and archaeologist, researcher of languages ​​and culture of indigenous peoples of Siberia, professor of the TSPU Andrei Petrovich Dulzon has opened at the TSPU Scientific Library (66 Herzen St.).

Andrei Petrovich was a comprehensively gifted interdisciplinary scientist. His studies in archeology, toponymy, linguistics were aimed at studying the origin of the indigenous peoples of Siberia and their languages. A.P. Dulzon managed to attract a large number of scientists and students to work on this issue, which ultimately led to the creation of one of the famous linguistic centers in Siberia and laid the foundation for the history of the linguistic school”, - says Elena Alexandrovna Kryukova, head of the Department of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Siberia of the Faculty of foreign languages of the TSPU.

The founder of the unique Tomsk linguistic school for studying endangered languages ​​of Siberia, created on the basis of the TSPU, A.P. Dulzon alone and with his students conducted 35 complex expeditions to the north of the Tomsk Region and to the Krasnoyarsk Territory with the aim of collecting material on the Chulym-Turkic, Ket, Selkup, Khanty, Mansi, Nganasan, Shor, Evenki languages.

Exposition “Andrei Petrovich Dulzon. Great name in the history of TSPU” contains a story about the events of the scientist’s personal and professional life. The visitors can find unique facts from the biography of the specialist in the album “USSR State Prize Laureate Professor Dr. Petrovich Dulzon”. The album was created under the direction of Professor O.A. Osipova and transferred to the library by the Faculty of foreign languages ​​of the TSPU.
