TSPU STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN RUSSIAN GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY COMMITTIE ON TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

Postgraduate students of economic theory department of Tomsk state pedagogical university (Head of the Chair prof. V.V. Sizov) participated in field meeting of geographical society committee on tourism development, which was taking place from 8 to 10 September in Tomsk. The topic of meeting was: “The role of geographical society in development of tourism in Siberian federal district: problems and prospects”.

Postgraduate student Galina Panukova (group 61 of “Tourism” course) has presented a project of Ivan Petlin’s expedition from Tomsk to China. The goal of the project was to develop a tourist route timed to 400 anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and China. The project was approved by Kotlyakov Vladimir Mikhailovich – chairman of Russian geographical society on tourism development.

During the meeting scientific contacts with the management of Shor national park were made. Director of the National park Valeri Borisovich Nadezhdin has supported the creation of jointed research platform on the basis of TSPU to perform a complex study of local nature and culture. He expressed a desire to cooperate with TSPU and noticed that national park requires qualified specialist in order to develop ethnographic tourism. Postgraduate student Natalia Lisovskaya has made a report “Tourist framework of Eastern Russia on an example of Tomsk” and arranged a very interesting excursion for the guests of Tomsk.

Works of postgraduate students, that were presented during the Russian geographical society meeting will underlie researches and practices aimed to develop tourism in modern Russia.
